Serves my purposes well--with one problem
I am using this as a desk for my keyboard amd mouse. My previous desk which was part of the computer desk, slid in and out below the top of the computer desk. However, the sliding mechanism broke and it would no longer support the keyboard and mouse. The machine stand fits into the desk area well and is a pretty good substitute for the built-in desk. The height, width, and depth couldn't be better. My only complaint is that the shelf is a bit too close to the front of the stand. Since I use it as a keyboard desk, I would prefer that it be set back a couple of inches farther so my legs can get closer to the keyboard. Because it's so close to the front, my shins can contact the front edge. I tried to remedy that by taping a foam rubber strip to the front edge of the shelf. That seems to help.
